Landfill

In Siilinjärvi there is a landfill site at Säyneenjoki, located 10 km south of the settlement along the Viitonen road (old VT 5) at Viitonen 1596, 70900 Toivala . The landfill is open on weekdays from 7.00 to 18.00 and on Saturdays from 8.00 to 16.00. Garden waste can be brought in 24 hours a day.
Landfill can only be brought from the territory of the municipality of Siilinjärvi:
- sorted garden waste (twigs, hawthorn, leaf and grass clippings) in a separate area
- invasive species (e.g. giant hogweed, gorse, giant balsam, lupine) must be left in a designated area and separated from the rest.
- stumps cleaned to a separate area
Municipal waste, such as apples, may not be brought to the landfill.
The stumps are brought in through automatic gates. The gate registers the loads brought to the landfill. To export the loads, the customer has to pick up a stump token from the technical services to enter the gate. A one-off charge of €75.00 is always made for use of the token for more than one week, after which the token remains with the company. Private customers will be charged €75.00 if the towel is not returned by the agreed date.
The following fees are charged for waste brought to the landfill.
