Permits

In Siilinjärvi municipality, the Public Authorities Board is the building control authority as defined in the Building Act (RakL 99 § ).

The contractor must ensure that the building is designed and constructed in accordance with the building regulations and the permit issued. He must have adequate conditions for carrying out the project, taking into account its complexity, and have qualified personnel at his disposal (RakL § 91 ).

The designers and plans for a building are laid down in Sections 82, 83, 92, 93 and 94 of the Building Act. In the planning of construction, there must always be a chief designer responsible for the overall design and scope of the design (Section 92 of the Building Act).

The first and third Monday of each month, the building inspector is given the power to issue permits delegated to him by rule.

Types of permits under the Building Act:

• building permit (new construction and extension, renovation and alterations, change of use)
• placement permit
• landscape permit
• demolition permit
• notification of demolition
