Local heritage archive

The Siilinjärvi Cultural Office has a local history archive, which stores and archives the archives of associations and organisations in Siilinjärvi. The archives include annual reports and catalogues, correspondence, account documents, histories and photographs.

The archives to be received must be screened and organised. No account records will be accepted. The archive has its own archive plan, according to which the material is organised and catalogued.

When archival material is received, a transfer agreement is concluded, in which the donor can decide, for example, on the conditions of use of the material.

The Local History Archives have 98 organised archives, including those of veterans’ associations, sports clubs, agricultural and domestic associations and cultural associations.

Most of the material in the Local History Archives is freely accessible. Any donation of archive material and/or examination of the archives must be agreed in advance with the Cultural Coordinator tel. 044 740 1318. Archive materials can only be examined in the agreed study room and are not available for loan.
