From Manure to €uros

Background to the project

The Rural Service of Sydän-Savo, in cooperation with local actors, is implementing the From Manure to €uros project funded by the Kalakukko Development Association. The aim of the project is to seek information on the technological and economic conditions for the implementation of a decentralised biogas production ecosystem in the Kuopio, Siilinjärvi, Tuusniemi, Kaavi and Rautavaara regions. The total cost of the project is € 180 000. The European Union will contribute € 77 400 and the municipality € 102 600.

The project seeks information on

– On the feedstocks suitable for biogas production and their quantities in the project area
– The potential for utilisation of digestate
– Technological solutions and feasibility studies
– Logistics and siting of plants
– Carbon dioxide recovery potential
– Biomethane recovery in farm machinery
