The municipal bonus for employment is a reward for employing an unemployed person from Siilinjärvi. The aim of the municipal bonus is to promote the employment of unemployed jobseekers in Siilinjärvi.

A municipal bonus can be granted to an employer in Siilinjärvi who employs an unemployed jobseeker from Siilinjärvi. The purpose of the supplement is to cover the costs of recruitment, work space, work clothing, induction and guidance incurred when hiring a new person.

No supplement is granted for salary or salary-related expenses. The municipal bonus may be granted for employment that began no earlier than 1.1.2025.

The local bonus can be granted to employers in all sectors. It is not granted to private individuals, the State, welfare regions, municipalities or group associations or companies partly owned by municipalities.

Several municipalities and cities in Finland have paid the municipal bonus during 2024. It aims to help unemployed people find work and improve their quality of life through work.

Target group: unemployed customers from Siilinjärvi

Amount of the municipal allowance: the municipal allowance is granted for 4-35 weeks.

350 euros per month for working at least 25 hours per week.

EUR 600 per month for working at least 32 hours per week.

The municipal employment allowance is granted within the limits of the budget allocated by the municipality and in the order in which applications are received.

Specifications

– A single employer can receive a maximum of five local bonuses per year for the employment of different persons.

– No bonus is granted for salary or salary-related expenses.

– The premium is de minimis aid for an applicant engaged in a commercial activity.

– No bonus is granted if the work is commission-based. No bonus is granted for temporary work.

– The bonus is not granted if the person hired has previously been in compulsory employment (supplementary unemployment insurance right) in the municipality of Siilinjärvi.

– The bonus is not granted if the employment condition of the person hired has been fulfilled in an employment relationship for which a municipal employment bonus has been granted during the previous two calendar years.

– The bonus is not granted in a normal job change situation, e.g. an employee quits a job to move to a new job or a graduate student is directly employed.
