Summer work voucher 2025

THE APPLICATION FOR SUMMER WORK VOUCHERS HAS CLOSED

Siilinjärvi municipality will distribute a summer work voucher to young people born in 2008 – 2009 who are about to finish 9th grade or are studying for the first year in upper secondary school or vocational school in the spring of 2025. 150 summer work vouchers will be distributed. Please act quickly to collect your voucher.

With the summer work voucher, the municipality wants to make it easier for young people to find a job and get to know working life. The value of the voucher is € 210.

A summer work voucher is personal and you can get one copy. The young person applies for and gets the job themselves. The work period of the voucher must be between 2 June and 1 August 2025.

The duration of the job should be two weeks (10 working days) and the working hours should be 30h/week. The employer must pay the young person a wage in accordance with the collective agreement, but at least €410 for the period of the summer work voucher. An employment contract must be concluded with the worker.

A summer work voucher worth EUR 210 can be paid to an employer who employs a young person from Siilinjärvi who has been granted a summer work voucher. The value of the summer work voucher is paid to the employer afterwards. The employer must have a Y-identification number. The employer can be a company, association, organisation, society, foundation, forestry association or the municipality of Siilinjärvi. The employer cannot be the state, another municipality or a household. The summer work voucher can also be used for 4H-entrepreneurship when the company operates during the summer and employs for at least two weeks. A total of 150 summer work vouchers will be distributed during week 7.Students studying in Siilinjärvi schools can apply for a voucher at Siilinjärvi schools and students studying in Kuopio and Toivala Sakky can apply at the municipal library at the following times:

Ahmo school: wednesday 12.2. from 9.45 to 11.45 (school youth work point)

Library’s municipal customer service point: Wednesday 12.2. at 15-17 (remember to show your student ID! Summer work vouchers will be distributed to vocational school students and upper secondary school students whose place of study is not Ahmo)
