The proposal for a change to the land-use plan is published.
The Municipal Council decided at its meeting on 22.9.2025 § 190 to open the proposed amendment to the Siilinpää town plan for public inspection. The zoning plan amendment concerns recreational, special, water and street areas in the Siilinpää zoning plan area of Municipality 1 of the municipality of Siilinjärvi.
The land-use plan amendment defines the possibilities for the construction of a new ball hall in the Sahara sports area. At the same time, other development possibilities for the area will be examined, as well as the need for changes to parking and traffic areas.
Submission of objections
The draft plan is available for inspection 26.9. – 27.10.2025 at the municipality’s customer service point at the Siilinjärvi Main Library and on the municipality’s website. Any comments must be submitted by 27.10.2025 either by e-mail to kaavoitus@siilinjarvi.fi or in writing to Siilinjärvi Municipality, Municipal Government, P.O. Box 5, 71801 Siilinjärvi.

VUORELA
Change of land-use plan

The proposal for a change to the land-use plan is published.
The Municipal Council has decided in its meeting on 22.9.2025 § 189 to open the proposed amendment to the Vuorela town plan for public inspection. The zoning plan amendment concerns blocks 15 (part) and 6160 (part) as well as recreational and street areas in the Vuorela zoning plan area of the municipality of Siilinjärvi, municipality part 2.
The zoning plan amendment will allow for the location of a new grocery store in Vuorela. The plan aims to allow for a wide range of services in the new development and to take into account the traffic and parking needs of the new development.

GENERAL PLAN FOR THE YARA MINING AND FACTORY SITE
Launch of the general plan and publication of the participation and assessment plan.
At its meeting on 8.9.2025 § 174, the Municipal Council decided to launch the Yara General Plan and to open the participation and assessment plan for public consultation. The master plan area includes all areas of Yara’s mining and factory operations, including the necessary protection zones.
The aim is to draw up a master plan that will allow Yara’s mining and factory site to continue operating into the 2060s, taking into account the studies and results of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedure for the mine expansion project that ended in November 2024.
Presenting your views
The participation and assessment plan for the plan will be available for inspection from 12 September throughout the whole process at the municipality’s customer service point at the Siilinjärvi main library and on the municipality’s website. Any comments on the participation and assessment plan should be sent either by e-mail to kaavoitus@siilinjarvi.fi or in writing to Siilinjärvi Municipality, Municipal Government, P.O. Box 5, 71801 Siilinjärvi.

The proposal for a change to the land-use plan is published.
The Municipal Board has decided in its meeting on 8.9.2025 § 176 to open the proposed amendment to the Taivallahti site plan for public inspection. The zoning plan amendment concerns blocks 2260 and 2267 in the Taivallahti zoning area of Siilinjärvi municipality, part 1 of municipality 1.
The aim of the zoning plan amendment is to subdivide a large unfinished terraced house site along Linnuntien into residential housing.

The Municipal Board has decided in its meeting on 8.9.2025 § 175 to initiate the Tiprusniemi town plan amendment and to open the preparatory documents for public inspection. The zoning plan amendment concerns block 4701 in the Tiprusniemi zoning area of the 1st municipal district of Siilinjärvi municipality.
The aim of the land-use plan amendment is to enable business activities on the site of the old fire station.

MUSTIKAMÄKI
Urban land-use plan and change of urban land-use plan

The land-use plan and the change to the land-use plan are pending and the preparatory documents are available for inspection.
The Municipal Board has decided in its meeting on 31.3.2025 § 60 to initiate the Mustikkamäki town plan and town plan amendment and has decided to make the preparatory documents for the plan available for inspection. The change of the zoning plan concerns the traffic area of the 2nd part of the municipality of Siilinjärvi in the Pyöreälahti zoning area.
The land-use plan will create a new small housing estate for about 50 residential building plots in the existing urban structure.

The preparatory documents for the plan were open for public inspection from 4 April to 5 May 2025. The aim is to have the draft zoning plan and the zoning plan amendment available for public inspection during autumn 2025.

NORTH-WESTERN SILINJÄRVI COASTAL AND VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT PLAN
The General Plan is launched and the preparatory documents are published.
At its meeting on 10.3.2025 § 51, the Municipal Board decided to initiate the Northwest Silicon Lake Shoreline and Village Master Plan and to open the preparatory documents for public inspection.
The planning of the coastal plan concerns the shores of the water bodies in the north-western part of the municipality in the areas of Pöljä, Vironniemi, Pohjolanmäki, Mikan, Hökösen, Luvelahti and Keskimmäinen. The purpose of the village plan is to allocate the core areas of the villages in the northern parts of Aappola and Pöljä for the construction of detached houses with a direct building permit for a period of about 10-15 years.
Presenting your views
The preparatory documents were open for consultation from 14 March to 21 April 2025, and the master plan is expected to be published as a draft during autumn 2025.
