Agreement on the cooperation area
The municipalities of Kaavi, Lapinlahti, Rautavaara, Siilinjärvi and Tuusniemi form an environmental health care cooperation area with the municipality of Siilinjärvi as the responsible municipality. The co-operative area has been formed as of 1.1.2011. The Environmental Health Board is responsible for organising the tasks. The environmental health inspectors and veterinarians of the municipalities are employed by the municipality of Siilinjärvi. You can read the contract here.
As a result of the mergers of municipalities, the City of Nilsiä (from 1.1.2013), the Municipality of Maaninga (from 1.1.2015) and the City of Juankoski (from 1.1.2017) have left the cooperation area. The tasks of the environmental health inspectors in Nilsiä, Maaninga and Juankoski are organised by the City of Kuopio. Siilinjärvi environmental health services provide part of the veterinary care of the City of Kuopio.
Rules of Procedure of the Environmental Health Board
In the environmental health care cooperation area, the decision-making power is exercised by the Environmental Health Committee under the Siilinjärvi Municipal Government in accordance with the cooperation agreement.
