Cultural services

The aim of Siilinjärvi Municipality’s cultural activities is to promote cultural well-being, support services that increase the well-being of local residents and, among other things, produce events in close cooperation with the third sector and various actors in the municipality. We create the conditions for independent cultural leisure activities and maintain our local cultural heritage through our museums and our archives of local history, artefacts and photographs.
The Pöljä Local History Museum and the Harjamäki Hospital Museum are open during the summer months. The hospital museum is also open in autumn and winter by appointment.
Local culture is created by the library, the Civic Education Centre and the municipality’s general cultural services. In addition to these, Siilinjärvi has a large number of active associations and art professionals who make a significant contribution to the cultural life of Siilinjärvi. Read below the analysis of the Culture Survey (2023) to find out what residents think about cultural services.
The Kulturj´kiho is a title awarded annually to a person or group of people who have made a significant contribution to the field of culture. The Kulturj´kiho has been awarded since 1983.

Culture lives in time – past, present and future!
There are many forms of culture – one content suits one person, but does not appeal to another.
We hope and work to help everyone find a piece of culture that suits them.
