Winter swimming sites
The open water swimming activities at the Siilinlahti beach swimming pool are organised by the Siilin Latu ry, through which keys to the maintenance building can be rented. The building has warm changing rooms and toilets. The changing rooms are being renovated and will be completed in mid-November.
Key rental is handled by Jorma Häkkinen tel. 044 210 3317.
A new sauna for winter swimmers, Lauteet Oy, opened in Siilinlahti in January 2022. You can find out more about the sauna on the LauteetSauna website.
The other open-air swimming spot in the city centre is at the end of Kanavatie, which is also run by the Siilin Latu.
In Vuorela, Vuorela Kunto ry is responsible for the management of the open-air swimming area and key rental at Simpa beach.
The sauna heats up on Mondays and Thursdays from 15.00 to 21.00.
The fee for the spring season is 50 € (including the membership fee for the condition of Vuorela)
Keys are handed over and received by Pirkko Savolainen tel. 0400 918 044. A deposit of €10 will be refunded when the key is returned.
Note: the group is full, so no new swimmers can be accepted.
VuoKu will start the multifunctional sauna building project in April 2022, when the old sauna building will be demolished. The season will end in mid-April. So next autumn there will be no sauna at all.
