Vuorela Youth Centre offers a wide range of opportunities to spend your free time alone or with friends. You can play a variety of games such as Playstation, Nintendo, ping pong, pool and board games. We also have a gym and a craft room, which allow you to do a variety of activities. There are always supervisors on site to supervise and guide the activities. We want to emphasise that you can come and just be with us 🙂 The Youth House is free of charge.
The Youth Centre’s open sessions for primary school children are for 3rd-6th graders and are held at the Vuorela Youth Centre on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We visit the sports hall with those who want to play and exercise, usually from 15-16 on both days of the week. On Wednesdays from 14-15 we forget for a while about “jamming” on the phone and other screens and come up with other nice things to do.
Open “big shifts” are for young people in secondary school and above. During the Big Shift, we often have a relaxed coffee and get-together, as well as baking and cooking according to the young people’s wishes. The hall is also available for use during the big shift.
Other activities at the Youth Centre:
The youth work feedback box is a tool for everyone to use, through which you can give ideas for improvement and influence the youth house. The aim is to give all young people the opportunity to share their ideas and, if they so wish, to be involved in the projects that result from them.

Ping-pong in the nuokkar hall.We play in a relaxed atmosphere, with an instructor on hand to give you tips. Both beginners and more experienced players can join in. The ping pong sessions are aimed at young people from secondary school and above.
- Wednesdays 19-20
Extracurricular activities are aimed at 6th-9th graders and are a chance to explore different leisure activities and hobbies in the local area free of charge. Activities take place a couple of times a month, with different themes and locations. We will inform young people interested in the activities about the more detailed schedule and the content of the meetings in a whatsapp group, you can get the link from Jenna or Katja.
The first meeting will take place on 30.9 at 14-16 at Vuorela Youth Centre. Let’s make tortillas together in a relaxed atmosphere and think together about what we could do and where we could go on the following Tuesday afternoons.

At Suininlahti Middle School we are on Tuesdays in the morning. During the long break, we sometimes organise activities such as ping pong tournaments and other small activities. Otherwise, you can find us in the hallways at Suin or in classroom 116. Classroom 116 is a dedicated living room for young people, with space to hang out, as well as some board games and table football. In addition, coffee or breakfast, for example, is sometimes served in the room by the youth worker.
At Vuorela school, we occasionally participate in long recesses on Mondays. We organise a programme for the breaks in collaboration with the school curator. Everyone is welcome to join in. In addition, schools can request visiting times for the youth curriculum as needed.

You can see the space reservations here. Youth facilities can be hired for private use, for example for children’s birthday parties. The price is 30€/hour. You can make a reservation by contacting Katja.
