Schools
Siilinjärvi municipality has ten comprehensive schools, of which eight are for grades 1-6 and two for grades 7-9.
Individual basic education for pupils with intellectual disabilities or other developmental delays is provided in S-classes at Siilinlahti school.
Primary Schools
Hamula School is a primary school with around 340 pupils. It is located about 2 km west of the Siilinjärvi municipal centre in the Harjamäki housing estate. The new school building was completed in 2014 and its learning environment enables students to learn in a versatile and modern way, using the latest educational technology.
The school provides pupils with a high quality basic education, emphasising their own strengths through a functional approach to work. The school’s mission is to raise students who are responsible and who value others and themselves. Pupils who are aware of their own roots and the cultural heritage of their country, and who are equipped with the skills to build their own knowledge base.

Kasurila School is a school of around 180 pupils located on the slopes of Kasurila. The school is located between the rural countryside and the urban area along the old viitostie about 4 km south of Siilinjärvi town centre.
The school focuses on providing a good basic education and a wide range of arts and crafts. Functionality is a key theme in teaching and learning is enriched through a variety of themed activities and projects involving collaborative partners.

Kehvo School is located in a peaceful rural setting in the village of Kehvo. Kehvo school is attended by around 90 primary school pupils and it has five teachers. A kindergarten and an afternoon activity are attached to the school.
The school offers every student the opportunity to grow as a person and to develop a strong and correct sense of self. Each student is given responsibility for their own learning and the opportunity to be accepted as themselves. Pupils are taught to feel a sense of responsibility for the whole community.

Kuuslahti School is a cosy primary school with around fifty pupils and three teachers, set in the beautiful countryside of the village of Kuuslahti. The school is located right next to the Nilsiäntie road, and it is about 10 kilometres from the centre of Siilinjärvi.
Kuuslahti School is an inspiring, supportive and safe school community that provides students with a good basic education. The emphasis is on student-centred work and close and natural communication with parents and guardians.

The Pöljä School is located in North Silinjärvi along Viitostie and is in the same building as the Pöljä kindergarten and pre-school group. Pöljä school has approximately 120 primary school pupils in grades 1-6.
Pöljä School is a village school, which works closely with stakeholders outside the school and with various partners. The school aims to provide quality basic education and to support the healthy growth and development of children in cooperation with their families. The school’s culture emphasises community, the joy of being, doing and learning together.

Siilinlahti School is a primary school in a urban area with around 490 pupils, located in a beautiful location by a lake.

The Toivala School is located in South Siilinjärvi, in a central location in the Toivala urban area. An extension to the school was completed in 2009 and a renovation in 2011. The primary school has about 300 pupils and is equipped with modern facilities and teaching equipment. The Suininlahti secondary school is located next to the school, on the other side of the Toivala road.
Toivala School is a safe and stimulating learning environment. We offer high-quality basic education, a well-functioning community network and a safe and modern learning environment. Toivala’s school culture emphasises community and cooperation with homes.

Vuorela School is located in the central location of Vuorela village in South Siilinjärvi. The school has about 270 pupils. The school serves both as a primary school for pupils in the area and as an activity and meeting place for the villagers. The new part of the school was opened in January 2021 and the old part was completed in 2010.
The school aims to provide a good basic education and equip pupils to become contributing members of society.

Secondary Schools
Ahmo School is a secondary school with about 550 pupils located in the centre of Siilinjärvi in a shared building with Siilinjärvi High School.
The staff, pupils and parents of Ahmo School value their school as an up-to-date, high-quality teaching, comfortable and safe learning environment. The school is perceived as a shared “our school”.

Suininlahti School is a secondary school for about 350 pupils in the Toivala settlement along the Toivala road.
The teaching and education at Suininlahti School emphasises basic safety, the development of healthy self-confidence and balance, the acquisition of social skills, learning to appreciate work and to take responsibility for their own work.
Students with difficulties are supported in as many ways as possible. The emphasis is on proximity; individuality, freedom and an atmosphere of encouragement.
