Outreach youth work

Outreach youth work is an established form of work in Siilinjärvi. The idea of itinerant youth work is to go where the young people are and be present for them as trustworthy adults. The whole youth work team is involved in itinerant activities. Through school youth work, we visit secondary schools on a weekly basis from the autumn term until the end of the spring term.

We occasionally reach out to young people on weekends, for example at events for young people and on the end/start weekends of primary schools. In summer, youth work visits more regularly and we have a car from the municipality of Siilinjärvi; you can recognise it from the youth work stickers.
