Afternoon activities
In Siilinjärvi municipality, afternoon activities in basic education are organised in all primary schools. Around 300 children are involved in the activities. The afternoon activities are organised by Juniori-KalPa ry, Siilinjärven Pesis ry, Siilinjärvi parish and Siilinjärvi municipality.
The activities are mainly aimed at pupils in grades 1 – 2 and for pupils who have an administrative decision on learning support. If there is room in the groups, pupils in grades 3 – 4 can also participate. Afternoon activities are generally organised on weekdays from 12.00 to 16.30 (not on school holidays or Saturday school days).

Registration and activity fees for afternoon activities
Applications for basic education afternoon activities are made via the Wilma system. The Wilma user ID used for registration is the guardian’s Wilma ID for the primary school. The enrolment form can be found in the top menu of Wilma under the “Applications and decisions” button. The “Submit a new application” button will then appear on the right-hand side of the page. In the drop-down menu you will find the form “Application for basic education afternoon activities”.

It is not recommended to register on mobile devices, as there may be problems with the functionality of the drop-down menus in Wilma.
All pupils in grades 1 and 2 and pupils who have an administrative decision on learning support, who have completed the application form by the registration deadline will be included in the afternoon activities. Applications received after the registration deadline will be put on hold and any available places will be filled in the order in which they are registered. Priority will be given to pupils with learnind support. Groups will be formed on the basis of the applications received. If there is more than one service provider in the school/district, it is possible to express a preference on the application form. The placement will be confirmed after the registration deadline. If the preferred group does not accommodate all the applicants, the pupils will be divided into groups according to the order of enrolment.
The decision on the afternoon activity place is available on Wilma or the decision on the afternoon activity place is sent home to the pupil’s guardian.
Registration for the 2026-2027 school year takes place via Wilma between 1.3.-30.4.2026.

Afternoon activities are subject to a fee.
The amount of the fees depends on the number of days of participation:
1 – 11 days/month = 79€/month (no sibling discount)
More than 11 days/month = 110€/month (sibling discount -25€)
No fee is charged if the child is absent for a whole month. The fee includes a snack.
The activity fee is the same for all months, including August. Participation days in May and June are combined and there is one invoice for each month.
Participation dates will be announced in accordance with the instructions for each afternoon activity group. For more information, please consult the school pedanet pages or the contact persons of the afternoon groups.
It is possible to obtain a payment exemption for the fee of afternoon activities (PoL 48 f §, SivLtk 18.12.2018 § 79, 20.6.2023 § 46). A payment exemption must be applied for in writing and may be granted for a limited period of time, at the earliest from the beginning of the month in which the application is received.

Notification of changes
You can terminate an afternoon activity place electronically using the Wilma form. The period of notice is 14 days from receipt of written notification. It is a good idea to discuss the termination with the afternoon activity group before you give notice. In Wilma, the form can be found under Applications and decisions -> Make a new application -> Change to basic education afternoon activities. The same form can be used to report changes to the beneficiary’s details.
