The property owner/holder can request a boundary survey from the municipality to clarify the boundaries, provided there is no dispute about the location of the boundary. A boundary survey does not formally establish the boundary or mark it permanently on the land. The municipality only carries out boundary marking on the ground in areas covered by a land-use plan. The municipality marks the location of the boundary and/or boundary markers on wooden stakes, based on the coordinate data and any boundary dimensions shown on the delivery maps. The municipality will charge a fee for boundary marking according to the working time invoice.
Lost border marker, dispute over border location?
A boundary order is required to place an official boundary marker in place of a lost one and to confirm the boundary marker and the boundary line in the land register. This is a procedure to establish the location of the boundaries in a legally binding manner, to mark the boundary markers on the land on the lost property and to hold a meeting to which the boundary neighbours and any other interested parties are invited.
The application for a boundary is made to the North Savo Land Survey Office, which carries out all real estate transactions in the Siilinjärvi area.
