Burial of waste

Landfilling is uncontrolled waste management, which is prohibited under the Waste Act. Burying waste in the ground can also cause environmental pollution. Therefore, the burial of waste is specifically prohibited by the waste management regulations.

Burial of dead pets is allowed in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Animal Welfare Agency (Evira). Dead farm animals and the keeping of carcasses are regulated separately. For more information on the regulations, please contact your local veterinary surgeon or visit the EFSA website.
