Grants
The Well-being Subcommittee of the Siilinjärvi Municipal Board distributes grants annually for cultural, sports and youth activities. The section also distributes grants for village activities, welfare grants to operators supporting the well-being of Siilinjärvi residents and property tax grants to non-profit associations. The grants are distributed within the limits of the appropriations specified in the budget. The Well-being Subcommittee decides each year on the allocation of each grant budget and the criteria for awarding grants.
The municipality of Siilinjärvi distributes the following grants to non-profit organisations:
- General grant (youth, culture, sport and welfare) and village activities grant
- Targeted grants (youth, culture and well-being)
- Scholarships
- Training and instructor grant (sport)
- Rewarding successful athletes (sport)
- Property tax allowance
Current affairs about grants
The 2026 grants will be open for applications in 12th of February. The grant application form will open on this page. The opening of the application will be announced in the News section of the municipality’s website, on the municipality’s social media channels, in the newsletter of the organisations and in the Uutis-Jousi. The grant application is open until 31 March 2026 at 14.00 and late applications will not be considered.
Cost statement
Recipients of a grant for a specific project must submit a statement of expenditure no later than one month after the end of the event or other production for which the grant was awarded.
How to apply for a grant
Applications for grants can be made electronically via the municipality’s website. If necessary, the application can be sent by post to the municipality’s registry office at PL 5, 71801 Siilinjärvi. If the application is submitted on paper, it must contain the same information as the online application form. Grant applications must be submitted to the municipality by 31 March 2026 at 14.00 and decisions will be made in April. Late applications will not be considered.
Decisions on the grants will be taken by the end of April, after which applicants will be informed. Some applicants will have to complete their application for missing annexes.
A Commitment to Substance-free Activities
Siilinjärvi municipality requires a commitment to substance-free activities from those who receive financial support from the municipality for activities with children and young people (under 18 years of age). Drug-free means that no form of intoxicating substances are used at events for children and young people. In other respects, both as a group and as individuals, the aim is to behave in a spirit of fair play, showing respect and consideration for other enthusiasts and players during competition/recreational trips, training sessions and other joint events. All groups of children and young people are required to be alcohol-free. Drugs are defined as nicotine products, alcohol, narcotics and other intoxicating substances.
The online grant application form has a section asking for a commitment to be substance-free. There is no need to fill in a separate agreement form if you fill in the online application form. The attached substance-free contract must be completed as an attachment to the paper grant application.
