On-call veterinary services outside office hours

On-call veterinary services are available every day of the year. The on-call service is only for cases of illness requiring immediate treatment. Veterinary fees are between 50% and 100% higher than normal fees during on-call hours. In the Siilinjärvi’s Joint Action area, the veterinary on-call service is organised in two on-call areas:

1. Kuopio (not Nilsiä), Siilinjärvi, Kaavi and Tuusniemi

On-call hours are from Monday to Thursday from 16:00 to 8:00 on weekdays and from Friday 15:00 to Monday 8:00 on weekends. For urgent emergencies, the veterinarian can be contacted on the following numbers:

• Large animals: 0600 30 6099 (from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. 1.01 €/min, from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. 2.04 €/min)

2. Lapinlahti, Nilsiä, Rautavaara and Juankoski

On weekdays, on-call duty starts at 4 p.m., except on Fridays and public holidays, when it starts at 3 p.m. On-call duty continues until 8 a.m. the following weekday morning.
