Environmental health
The role of environmental health is to ensure the health and safety of the living environment. The tasks of environmental health include
- food control
- health protection monitoring (including monitoring of drinking water, bathing water and health conditions in various places, such as kindergartens, schools and retirement homes, and home inspections in case of suspected health problems)
- enforcing smoking bans and restrictions and controlling the sale of tobacco and nicotine products
- control of the sale of nicotine products
- veterinary care and its various components.
In addition, the environmental health services organise the care of found animals in the cooperation area, Juankoski, Maaninka and Nilsiä.
Environmental health control tasks include advising and guiding operators and consumers, inspection activities and preparing for special situations.
