State of the environment

Information on the state of the environment is obtained, for example, from monitoring by the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE), state authorities and the municipal environmental protection authority, as well as from monitoring based on operators’ soil, environmental and/or water permits. The data covered by the open access right are collected in the Open Environmental Information Systems service, which contains information on water resources, surface water status, groundwater, species, environmental pressures and land use, as well as spatial data sets related to the environment.

The Carbon Neutral Finland website provides information on climate change mitigation and adaptation actions.
