Frisbee golf
Frisbee golf, which has recently grown enormously, is a game that can be played by everyone, regardless of age or gender. The principle of Frisbee golf is similar to that of “ball golf”. Instead of balls and clubs, Frisbee golf uses plastic frisbees of different sizes and weights. In frisbee golf, the hole in the ball golf ball is replaced by a target basket. The idea of the game is that the player who completes the course with the fewest number of throws is the winner.
Siilinjärvi has five frisbee golf courses at Ahmo, Vuorela School, Kunnonpaika and two competition-level courses in Tarinalaakso. In addition, there are some frisbee golf baskets in the yard areas/neighbourhood of the schools in Pöljä, Kasurila, Kehvo, Siilinlahti and Suininlahti. Our frisbee golf facilities have been strongly developed by the Vuorela Veikot ry. The Veikko frisbee golf section is also responsible for the maintenance of the courses.
Story Valley DiscGolf courses
Tarinalaakso DiscGolf courses (Old Course 2015, New Course 2020) are the first competition level courses in Siilinjärvi. The Old Course has a total length of 2318 metres and 19 fairways. The course has large differences in altitude, so it is also more physical in this respect. The course has a playing time of just over two hours. A special feature of the course is the cross-country course that crosses the course. Throwing is prohibited if horses are in sight. The New Course has a total length of 2259 metres and 19 lanes. The initial part of the course has higher altitude differences, the rest is flat forested terrain.
Ahmon frisbee golf course
The Ahmo frisbee golf course offers a challenge for those who have been playing the sport for longer, but is also suitable for beginners. The course lasts 60-90 minutes. There are 12 holes on the Ahmo course, the par (ideal score) is 32 shots and the total length of the holes is 1122 metres. The course is located in a busy sports area. Players should be aware of other users of the area and, if necessary, leave the fairway unplayed.
Frisbee golf courses at Kunnonpaikan and Vuorela school
The frisbee golf courses at Kunnonpaikan and Vuorela School are suitable for beginners and amateurs alike. The Kunnonpaikan track has a playing time of about 40 minutes. The par is 27 strokes and the total length is 503 metres. The Vuorela school course has a total length of 551 metres and a par of 27 shots. The Kunnonpaikan and Vuorela courses can also be easily played as an 18-hole course – the distance between the courses is about 250 metres.
The Siilinlahti frisbee golf course has had to be partially dismantled as a result of construction work in the area. Only a few baskets are currently in use.
