Youth Council
Siilinjärvi Youth Council, SiNuVa has been a channel for young people to have their say since 2009. The members of the Youth Council are consulted at committee meetings, in the Municipal Council and in the Welfare Section. SiNuVa aims to make young people’s voices heard, raise issues of concern to young people in Siilinjärvi and provide activities for young people in the community. The Youth Council works in close cooperation with youth work, participates in organising events for young people, traditionally organises hygiene passport training and the “What’s in it for you?” survey for young people in Siilinjärvi. A Helsinki Day is also planned for the 100th anniversary of Siilinjärvi.

Mariarita Luodes was elected as the representative of the North Savo Regional Youth Council 2025-26 and Teresa Suominen as an alternate (elected 28.2.25).

Meetings in 2025
NuVa formally meets 4-6 times a year. The meetings for the year -25 have been held on Fridays from 17.00 to 19.00: Vuorela Youth Centre on 10.1., Innocum, I1 Niitty-meeting room on 28.2., Semppis Youth Centre in Kirkonkylä on 25.4. The scheduled meetings for the autumn will be held on Thursdays from 17.00 to 19.00; Vuorela Youth Centre on 11.9., Innocum on 13.11. and Semppis Youth Centre on 11.12.
