Landfill site
In Siilinjärvi, there is the Säyneenjoki landfill site, which is situated 10 km south of the Kirkonkylä settlement, along a road known as Viitonen (the old VT 5).
The municipal landfill site is intended for the reception of clean surplus soil and garden waste brought in from Siilinjärvi.
Säyneenjoki landfill site:
Households can take the following items to the landfill free of charge:
- sorted garden waste (twigs, hawthorn, leaves and grass clippings) in a separate area
- Invasive species (including giant hogweed, Japanese rose, giant balsam and lupin) must be left in the designated area, kept separate from other plants
- individual stumps
- small quantities of soil (on a car trailer)
Municipal waste, such as apples, must not be brought to the landfill site.
Businesses and larger quantities:
- clean soil, topsoil, stones (PLEASE NOTE: for large quantities, please contact the maintenance manager in advance)
- cleared stumps
These are brought in via the automatic gates. The gate records the loads brought to the landfill site. To remove loads, the customer must collect a token from Technical Services (Oppipojantie 2) – intended for lorries or trucks – which allows entry through the gate.
A one-off fee of €75.00 is always charged for the token for any use lasting more than one week, after which the token remains with the company. Private customers will be charged a €75.00 token fee if the token is not returned by the agreed date.
