Construction of a new ball hall begins in Siilinjärvi
In Siilinjärvi, a new solid-construction ball hall will be built in the Sahara area, and work will start in the spring, when the parking arrangements in the sports area will be renewed. The warm hall will be equipped with artificial grass suitable for both football and baseball, as well as a running track with an athletics surface. The hall is expected to be completed early next year.
The new indoor ball pit will significantly improve the municipality’s winter training facilities. At the moment, clubs mainly train in school halls or in Kuopio’s ball halls, where free places have been scarce.
The hall also serves the area’s schoolchildren and early childhood education, as nearly 1 500 children and young people move around within a radius of about half a kilometre every day. The new facility will support both sports education and applied sports groups.
