Accessibility
This accessibility statement applies to www.siilinjarvi.fi and the mobile app of Siilinjärvi municipality. The accessibility statement has been updated on 6.2.2024. The service is subject to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which requires that public online services must be accessible. The accessibility of the services has been assessed by an external expert organisation, Newelo Oy.
Status of digital accessibility on the website
Partially meets accessibility requirements.
Non-accessible content on the website
The website meets most of the accessibility requirements.
Non-achievable content and corresponding WCAG 2.1 requirement not yet met:
– The delete function on the feedback form is not keyboard accessible (WCAG 2.1.1)
– In the company directory, the alignment in the function buttons is not visible when using the keyboard (WCAG 2.4.7)
– The classifications of the service branch are not selectable from the keyboard (WCAG 2.1.1 and 2.4.7)
– The booking calendar has some shortcomings: low contrast ratio, not all buttons have text response, you cannot target the reserved time with the keyboard, the calendar time selection window does not work with the keyboard and there is no language defined for the page (for the screen reader). In addition, the alignment is poor when using the keyboard (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.4.3, 2.1.1, 2.4.7 and 3.1.1)
– The indoor sports facilities price list is on an image document and no text content is available for the screen reader (WCAG 1.1.1)
– In the Premises Service, the fields in the application form do not have a tektivant (WCAG 1.1.1)
The site and its accessibility will be improved as part of ongoing maintenance and by training content providers. For third-party software used in the service, we will provide comments to the system provider on those aspects of the software development that are beyond our control.
State of digital accessibility in the mobile app
The app meets most of the accessibility requirements.
Non-achievable content and corresponding WCAG 2.1 requirement not yet met:
– The app can only be used in portrait mode (WCAG 1.3.4)
– Low contrast contrast 2,60:1 white #FFFFFFFF and purple #BC8EDF contrast 4,31:1 white #FFFFFFFF and green #008B62 contrast 2,51:1 dark green #00432F and green #00875F contrast 3,67:1 white #FFFFFFFF and red #EA4E55 contrast 1,47:1 white #FFFFFFFF and grey #D5D5D5 (WCAG 1.4.3)
– Menu text responses are in English (WCAG 1.1.1)
– No explanatory text response in the middle column of weather data (WCAG 1.1.1)
The app is a third-party mobile app. We have provided comments to the system provider on those aspects that we cannot influence in our own development.

Supervisory Authority
If you notice any accessibility problems on the site, please first give feedback to us, the site administrator. It may take up to 14 days to respond. If you are not satisfied with the response you receive, or if you do not receive a response at all within two weeks, you can report the problem to the Regional Administrative Board of Southern Finland. The Southern Finland Regional State Administrative Board’s page explains exactly how to report the matter and how it will be handled.
