Siilinlahti School achieved a four-star environmental rating

The new Siilinlahti School has been awarded four stars in the environmental rating scheme. This result was also the target set for the school project.

A four-star rating indicates the building’s high level of environmental performance. The assessment takes into account factors such as energy efficiency, indoor air quality, water consumption and the environmental impact of the building throughout its life cycle.

At four-star level, the building’s energy and material consumption is clearly above the statutory minimum requirements. The health and comfort of the indoor environment, as well as sustainable material choices and the systematic maintenance of the building, also play an important role.

Achieving this rating is a fine culmination of long-term planning and construction work. It demonstrates that environmental considerations have been taken into account at Siilinlahti School as a whole, with the building’s entire life cycle in mind.
