Residential areas and villages
Siilinjärvi’s residential areas and villages are popular and desirable places to live. In the urban areas of Kirkonkylä and Vuorela-Toivala, extensive services are close by. In rural villages, nature, the countryside and the peace of living are tangible.
Siilinjärvi currently has 11 neighbourhood/village associations or committees. In some villages, this activity is carried out by another community. The neighbourhood/village activities promote common issues in the neighbourhood and organise common events.
The Siilinjärvi Village Parliament acted as the umbrella committee of the residential area/village associations and committees from 2011 until May 2018. The Siilinjärvi Villages and Residential Areas Association was established on 15 May 2018 to continue and strengthen the work started by the Village Parliament.
The mission of the Siilinjärvi Residential Areas and Villages Association is to bring together the forces of residential area and village actors, to promote the well-being of residents and their participation in the affairs of their local area. In addition, we aim to promote the attractiveness, growth, and effectiveness of the residential areas/villages and the residents and residents. The association is non-partisan and non-religious.
