Eco-support

The eco-support help to transfer the municipality’s sustainable development goals to the work units. At the heart of eco-support are volunteer eco-supporters who encourage and guide their colleagues to make the most environmentally friendly choices in their workplace. They carry out an assessment of the situation in their own workplace, typically leading to a year-long action plan.

The network of eco-supporters includes 35 cities, municipalities and organisations from the public administration sector. The national network of eco-support activity is coordinated by the City of Helsinki Environmental Services. Each participating municipality has a designated eco-support coordinator who works together with the City of Helsinki Environmental Services and the eco-support coordinators of other organisations.
